For the end of our community unit, I planned a "Wanna Be" parade. The students dressed up as what they want to be when they grow up and they did a show and tell to the class and then we went around the school and into other classes and waved to show off our costumes. The kids LOVED it!! I only had 3 that did not dress up and had some extra stuff for them to wear. I also downloaded some songs off itunes about a teacher, a dentist, a farmer, and a firefighter and carried around a stereo while we did the parade. Several parents came and enjoye dit as well. Here are some pics of my kids in costume.

Don't forget the Dora the Explorer Lesson ideas:
Example: Read Dora's Backpack (or other Dora books/videos)
It's about Dora trying to find her way to the library. The map helps
give her directions.
Activities (may span 2-3 days):
1. Have students vote which destination they would like to map:
library, cafeteria, nurse's office, office, etc. (Graph/vote/count)
2. Create the map together. (Interactive writing/drawing)
3. Use the map to arrive at such destination. (Application)
4. Make any revisions, if necessary. (Editing/revising)
5. Have students create their own maps of the school or their community.
(Student ownership)
